Inside Our Latest Virtual Design Session

At LWD, we specialize in full-scale projects—new builds, large-scale remodels, and full-home furnishings. This is our bread and butter. But over the years, we’ve received countless inquiries from people who need expert advice on smaller design dilemmas—like refining a room layout, selecting the perfect wallpaper, or getting a second opinion before making a big decision.

That’s exactly why we created our virtual design sessions. Whether you’re building a home and want extra guidance, looking to optimize your furniture placement, or simply want reassurance that you’re heading in the right direction—this one-hour consultation is designed to bring clarity and confidence to your space, without the full-scale commitment.

This is for you if you have a specific design challenge, want a second opinion from a pro, or need expert guidance—without the full-scale commitment. No more second-guessing, wandering aimlessly through showrooms, or wasting money on pieces that don’t work. We help you get it right the first time.

Take a look at our latest virtual session, where we transformed a fireplace design in just one hour.

The Initial Inquiry

The process begins with an inquiry. We set up this service to be a quick and easy sign up from your end—no need to contact us first. You can simply pick a time, fill out a short form about your project, and pay the invoice—that’s it. If you’re not seeing a time that works for you, feel free to reach out to us. Once it’s booked, I start prepping right away!

Here is what this client needed help with:

  • A second opinion on the renderings they received for a new electric fireplace

  • Suggestions for built-ins on either side and how to decorate them

  • Recommendations for paint color, tile, and grout color.

The Design Session

During the 60-minute call, we walked through their space together, talked through their style, and saw what was currently existing in the space. Then, we came up with a clear plan in real time:

  • We reviewed the client’s fireplace renderings, discussing what was working and where we could make improvements.

  • I provided tailored recommendations for the built-ins, including ideal dimensions, shelving styles, and how to create balance with the fireplace.

  • My technical designer, Sierra, joined the call and worked in AutoCAD in real time as we refined the design with the client.

  • I shared photos from past projects that reflected the look we were creating to help the client visualize the finished space.

  • We suggested specific paint colors, tile options, and grout combinations to create a cohesive, polished look.

  • By the end of the session, the client was thrilled with the new direction and they had a clear plan for the next steps.

The Final Deliverable

After the design session, we provide a detailed deck of information that we discussed to provide the client. In this case, it included:

  • An inspiration photo capturing the overall vision for the completed space

  • A list of key design features we covered

  • Concept drawings to bring the ideas to life and discuss with their contractor

  • A mini design board to tie everything together

Here’s a peek at what the specific client received:

With their design plan in hand, the client is ready to transform the space with confidence—without second-guessing or costly mistakes. We can’t wait to see the final result once it all comes together—stay tuned for the after photo!
