The French Chateau Paint Guide
Since sharing the French Chateau project with you all, my most asked question has been about paint colors. So you asked, and I’m answering. Here is every paint color we used in the French Chateau Project. From the entryway to the basketball court, I am giving you guys the everything.
Grab your pen and paper and let’s head on inside!
Limestone Exterior. Perfect for the Arizona heat. We also used Shoji White by Sherwin Williams on the walls where the balconies are.
The Entryway
The goal was to make this space feel luxe while also being light, bright, and airy. We achieved that with incorporating tons of natural light and painting the walls with Benjamin Moore’s Cloud White in an eggshell finish. The door, base, case, trim, crown, and ceiling were all painted with Chantilly Lace by BM. It is a beautiful paint combination—dare I say, one of my favorites.
The ceiling is painted in a flat finish while the trim, doors, casing, etc. is in a semi-gloss.
The Living Room
We continued that paint color into the living room. Due to the amount of custom wall and ceilings details plus the built-ins in this space, we kept the paint color the same to give more emphasis to those details. Again, we have Benjamin Moore’s Cloud White on the walls and Chantilly Lace on the trim and ceilings. The built-ins stand out as they are painted with Whisper Dew by Dunn Edwards.
The Dining Room
As this is an open concept space, we have Cloud White on the walls and Chantilly Lace on the trim and ceilings. For the built-ins, we have Anew Grey by Sherwin Williams. It adds the perfect warmth to the space.
The Kitchen
Continuing to the kitchen, we have Cloud White on the walls and Chantilly Lace on the trim and ceilings. The kitchen cabinets are painted in Whisper Dew by Dunn Edwards. Off-white kitchen cabinets are always the way to go as a perfect white can feel cold and stark. Off-white is perfectly timeless.
The Butler’s Pantry
Moving into the butler’s pantry, the cabinet color in here is Natural Cream by Benjamin Moore. I love how this room is full of warmth and adds a pop of color to the kitchen overall with its blue tile. Walls, ceiling and trim are the same as the kitchen. Cloud White and Chantilly Lace, respectively.
Mudroom + Laundry
These two spaces are full of personality—one bold, the other soft and serene. All colors in this space are Benjamin Moore. The walls are painted in Cloud White, creating a crisp, airy backdrop. In the mudroom, the cabinetry makes a statement in Cheating Heart, a deep, moody hue that adds depth. The stunning Dutch doors, finished in Philipsburg Blue (semi-gloss), bring a touch of character and charm. Meanwhile, the laundry room is wrapped in Pale Oak cabinetry, offering a warm, inviting feel. I love how these colors complement each other so effortlessly.
The Bathrooms
In all of the bathrooms, the walls are again in Cloud White with Chantilly Lace on the trim and doors. In the basement bathroom, we chose Cheating Heart by Benjamin Moore for the dramatic effect. We have it in an eggshell finish on the wall, flat on the ceiling, and satin on the inside of the door.
The Basketball Court
In this space, we have Black Iron by BM in the niche with the slatted walls. I love how the wall, niche, and mats contrast the walls.
Basement Kitchenette
Like the rest of the home we have Cloud White and Chantilly Lace on the walls and trim. We chose Black iron by Sherwin Williams for the cabinets. I love the drama of this space and how the tile backsplash breaks up the design.
