Mountain View Project Reveal: Entry

Our latest project reveal is a Mesa family home with sweeping mountain views. Because the homeowners have a large family, I needed each and every space to be just as functional as it was beautiful. We were brought on to the project for a full furnishing job, to help make their existing floor plan function the most efficiently for their family.

Today, we're kicking off this project reveal with the entryway (and if you look closely - a sneak peek of the piano room). I selected this marble topped console table with a raw blonde wood similar to the existing floors. We loved the juxtaposition of the refined brass and marble against the natural wood tones. It was the perfect piece because it offered open and closed storage for the family. The drawers function perfectly for sunglasses, car keys, wallets and chargers. The color-blocked open baskets with leather trim detailing are easy to throw backpacks and shoes in as the family piles in the front door.

Directly across from the piano room is the staircase leading to the upstairs. The curve of the stairs created an empty space so we added this beautiful natural wood entry table. This color block vase on top of the table is the perfect place to house fresh flowers from the garden. The large scale galvanized pot tucked underneath the table adds depth and texture to the space.

On top of the console table, we broke the space up into three distinct sections. The oversized vase with fresh cut greenery, anchored by a stack of books, a sculptural ceramic vessel, candle and matches grouped on a textural tray, and finally a selection of favorite coffee table books positioned between two concrete bookends. By creating three individual spaces, the console feels balanced and interesting in an otherwise open space.

We selected a vintage rug with a worn color palette handle heavy traffic coming through the door. I love the way the red and golds play off the wood tones and brass details of the console table. Finally, we finished off the entry way with this great oversized round mirror with black edge detailing. I love providing clients with one final "check-point" as they walk out the door because it does double duty: they can check their hair and makeup once more and the mirror bounces light around the room, making for a brighter, more airy entryway.

Stay tuned as we reveal each space in our #LWDMountainViewProject over the coming weeks! Until then, catch up on our 7th Avenue Project Reveal and our 51st Street Project. As always, stay in touch over on Instagram.
