Hermosa Groves Project: Office Reveal
We are so excited to share with the next space in our Hermosa Groves Project: the office. Last week we revealed the entry and dining room.
The office is just off the entry so we went bold with this moody, masculine design and according to my sneak peek on Instagram, you guys are loving this space just as much as I am.
Let’s talk about the design, the transformation, and all the details!
When it came to the design, our client had a clear vision. We elevated it into a space that’s rich, masculine, and undeniably cool.
We wanted this space to feel rich and layered. The concept was moody and full of character. We wrapped the room in Calico Blue by Benjamin Moore (we know it’s green…not sure why they named it that). We also added custom arched built-ins with a warm wood backing, and finished the ceiling in rustic wood and added beams to bring in more texture and depth. This room is full of gorgeous small details like the brass cabinet hardware and picture lights, the fluted drawer detail, and the beams.
The mix of dark tones, natural wood, and architectural detailing gave the room a completely new identity. We kept the lighting and doors more modern to contrast the traditional materials. I absolutely adore the black steel doors. And you might not be able to tell from the photos but we also raised the height of the doorway to match the rest of the home. This made everything feel cohesive.
This room was all about balance. We wanted it to be bold, but not overdone. For styling, we went with a fun mix of accessories, personal touches from the homeowner, including a vintage typewriter and a collection of his favorite books. When sourcing for this project, we found original cowboy artwork, that I personally believe was made for this room.
Before + After
Before, this room didn’t match the rest of the home and felt like an afterthought. Now, it’s a space that feels fully custom. The steel doors add drama, the green tone wraps the room in depth, and the hardwood floors and built-ins feel timeless and intentional. It’s moody, modern, and just the right amount of Western. Isn’t the transformation to die for?
I just love how this office turned out, and how it added a whole new energy to the front of the home.
Stay tuned! More spaces coming soon.
