The French Chateau’s Living Areas

Welcome back to our French Chateau Project Reveal! Last week, we shared the impressive exterior and entryway. Read that here, if you missed it.

This week we are revealing the living and dining rooms, kitchen, and butler’s pantry. These rooms are seriously to die for. They are light, bright, and luxurious. I know you all will love these spaces as much as I do. We will start with the living room, move to the dining room, and then cover the gorgeous kitchen and butler’s pantry. I have a feeling these spaces will be up there with your favorite spaces LWD has designed so far.

Without further ado, let’s do this!

The Living Room

This living room is dreamy.

To create a classic and luxurious feel, we carried the gorgeous trim and millwork from the entry into this space.

The limestone fireplace and stunning built-ins serve as the focal points of the room. While we incorporate unique built-ins in nearly every project, these are particularly special. I spent a long time designing the cabinet doors, and that attention to detail doesn’t go unnoticed. These are truly custom to this home. The European influence seen on the exterior and in the entry continues here, reflected in the molding on the built-ins. Beyond the design, I love the functional storage at the bottom—perfect for tucking things away—and opting for a Frame TV allowed it to seamlessly blend into the space. It’s the perfect mix of traditional and modern.

With a large family, our clients needed plenty of seating, so we included a spacious custom sectional along with two side chairs, creating a comfortable space for everyone to lounge. And let’s not forget the showstopping marble coffee table—a massive slab that took serious manpower to get into the room.

The open floor plan of this home allows natural light to flood in, making the space feel bright, airy, and perfect for all the sunshine we get here in Arizona. Here, you can see the layered rugs we selected, along with a better view of the marble coffee table. And can we take a moment for that floral arrangement? Our florist did an outstanding job—find her information at the end of this post.

To make this room even more special, the architect incorporated a stunning coffered ceiling design, adding depth and visual interest. I love how it elevates the space. Our design team spent hours perfecting the millwork on the walls, and the effort was well worth it—it’s truly one of the most unique features of this home.

The Dining Room

I love the color palette of this room—black, cream, white, and gold—which ties beautifully into the entry, creating a cohesive feel throughout the home. The touch of greenery from the floral arrangement and the view outside is the perfect finishing touch. We selected bold black cerused oak chairs with caned backs and gold accents for a bit of fun and contrast.

There was a nook in this space that needed something special—what better than another custom built-in?

I adore the tall, curved glass panels that exude luxury while providing ample space for our clients to showcase their most cherished china, serveware, and decor. With four drawers and cabinets below, there’s no shortage of storage. The longer you look at this custom piece, the more intricate details you notice. We chose Anew Gray by Sherwin Williams to warm up the space, and the cremone bolt hardware pulls it all together beautifully.

The Kitchen

This kitchen has a seemingly never-ending list of features that will make you fall absolutely in love. There’s so much to take in, so let’s break it down.

Starting with the floors, we chose engineered hardwood in a herringbone pattern to elevate the look and add a custom feel. The gorgeous off-white cabinets, extend all the way to the ceiling. Since the ceilings are 11 feet high, we worked with our cabinet maker to design a custom crown—tall enough to make a statement without overwhelming the space. The massive island features a stunning porcelain waterfall countertop that grounds the kitchen beautifully.

For a touch of warmth, we added light wood beams that complement the cabinetry and floors. The brass hardware ties everything together, echoing the plumbing fixtures and oversized pendant lights above the island—true showstoppers that immediately grab your attention. We also incorporated hidden appliances for a seamless look, balancing out the fridge with a dedicated baking center on the right. This is where our client can easily access countertop appliances without disrupting the clean aesthetic.

A vintage runner rug adds character, while layered lighting—sconces above the windows and a picture light above the shelf—creates a cozy ambiance in the evening.

On the left, the classic gas range and oversized range hood create a striking focal point. But the real magic? The hidden details: countertop appliances, two dishwashers, a trash can, the fridge and freezer, and a pebble ice maker are all seamlessly tucked away behind beautiful cabinetry. Now that’s luxury kitchen design.

Finally, the black windows—grand and stunning—flood the space with natural light. Not only do they elevate the kitchen’s aesthetic, but they also create a cohesive design, seamlessly tying in the black accents from the entry and dining room.

The Butler’s Pantry

If you follow us on Instagram, you probably saw our reaction to the French Chateau photos—this is the room Amanda was squealing over. And for good reason. From the terracotta floors (customized to the perfect shade) to the unique faucet and farmhouse sink, this space is pure charm.

A butler’s pantry is a must in any luxury kitchen. A second kitchen for extra cooking and baking during big gatherings? Essential. An extra fridge for drinks, snacks, and overflow from the main fridge? Absolutely.

Style meets function with custom cabinetry painted with Pale Oak by BM, a zellige tile backsplash, a beverage fridge, a second oven, and a microwave—everything you need in a second kitchen, beautifully designed.

Thank you for exploring these beautiful living spaces with me.

I hope it was worth the wait! And don’t worry—there’s still more to unveil next week. Stay tuned!

Lexi
