Calle del Medio Project: Entry, Den + Little Girls’ Room

Today we are sharing the third part of our Calle Del Medio project which includes the mudroom, den, and girl’s room. If you happened to miss the first two parts of the project, you can find them here and here. When we began this mudroom already had great bones and these beautiful floors, but it just needed some personality. We added a bench that the kids could sit on while they put on their shoes, a perfect art piece above and pillows to add some much needed color and texture to the space.

The den also doubles as a music room. The piano seemed a little like an after thought so we recovered the bench to have tie into the pillows and added large scale art above it to really make a statement in the room. We wanted to have books displayed in the bookshelves since it is a den after all, and by putting some of them in baskets it makes the space feel cleaner and more organized.

The girl’s room is the cutest, it’s pink, girly and fun! It is a room that can grow with her as she gets older which we always try to do when designing kids spaces. The walls were this cute shade of pink so we decided to add a blue rug and blue drapery fabric to balance it out. I love the butterfly art above the bed it brings in more color and helps the room feel youthful.
